Yes however based on their age and coat type cats often require a little help with their grooming.
Owners should regularly clean their cat’s eye and ears and give them a comb through every few days. Not only does this keep their coat health and free from mats (the annoying tough knots that develop which are a nightmare to remove) but it helps strengthen the bond between you and your cat. Futhermore a health coat helps them regulate their body temperature and adds to their overall health and wellbeing.
In a word- all of them! Unless your cat is a sphinx then they will all require an element of grooming. This can range from a casual comb through to daily deshedding and groom.
A guide we found works well is for short haired cats with dense coats, such as the American and British short hair, the bengal, and the Scottish fold, a full groom once a month to include de-shedding and mat removal where required. Over and above this it helps to just give them a comb through every other day just to make sure the coat is healthy without mats.
For semi longhaired cats like the Maine coon and the ragdoll, they should be combed daily and bathed every 2 weeks to keep their coats soft, silky and without mats.
Cats with long flowing hair such as the Persian and British longhair should be combed daily, have their face washed every other day and be bathed weekly or even twice weekly to keep their coats in optimum condition.
Regular maintenance is the key to keeping your cat’s coat in tip top condition. At Glam Paws we offer a tailor made service specific to your cat’s needs.

The vast majority of cats will allow some level of grooming however this is dependent on their temperament and life experiences. Most will allow a full groom but some may object to nail trimming or combing especially if there are matted areas. Occasionally a cat will become too distressed and may need some calming medication prescribed by the vet. At Glam Paws our priority is your cat’s welfare so we will do our best to build a relationship with your cat prior to attempting any grooming. If we are unable to perform anything we will let you know the best course of action for your cat.
Once your appointment is confirmed we will arrive on time with all our kit. All we require is some space to work in and to put our table and equipment. Prior to any grooming we will chat to you about your cat and go through a basic health and coat check. We will then discuss a grooming plan with you and once done we will leave you a summary of what we did and what products we used. We enjoy involving you, the owner, in the process and will keep you in the loop at all times.
Other than some space to work and maybe a power socket, the only thing we may ask you for is a towel which we can use as a handling aid. Apart from that we bring everything we need with us and we’ll do our best to leave your house spotless so you won’t even know we were there!
We are a small team of husband and wife. We do this out of love for cats. We ask for a small deposit to secure your appointment to try and prevent last minute cancellations which are detrimental to us and it also means the appointment can’t be offered to someone else. We understand things can crop us at the last minute so we will do our best to work with you and come to an arrangement that suits everyone.
We offer a great price on our grooms all year round. However for our regular customers we offer a discounted 8 weekly grooming session if booked and paid on the same day. We also give our customers a loyalty card where every 5th groom is absolutely FREE! If you have more than 1 cat then we’ll also give you the second and subsequent grooms at a reduced price.
